On to Machine Shop Special Projects - Sub-scale Muzzleloading Artillery

First we will cut the transition bands between the first and second courses.  We take the rough diameter down to the second course diameter (3.25") for a couple of inches to the left of the band location and then bring the right side to diameter and to the proper position.   Next move out for the first step and take the edge over for the large band.  Back into the air at the left, feed in to the proper diameter for the second step and cut over to the proper width for that.  Reset the diameter for the smallest band and feed to its proper width, then feed out at 45º until clear of the material.

Now change tools and come back and do the left side of the second course at 3.25" diameter; then back out .062" and cut the right side step for the chase girdle bands.

Next we will work on the chase girdle between the second course and the tapered chase course.
